Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 gsm paper and Giclée inks

One of the Hahnemuhle Digital Fine Art range of papers, Photo Rag 308 gsm smooth is a bright white, age resistant paper with a 100% rag-based content. I have selected this paper for Ron Whitby Images because it is specifically designed to meet the demands of the artists and photographers who use digital photographic imaging to produce the highest quality limited edition prints.

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 gsm produces images with an incredible black (D-max) saturation, depth and colour. It also has a very smooth matt surface, while the white tone lies between natural and bright white. Its fine smooth surface and feel make the paper very versatile; ideal for printing black & white and colour photographs and art reproductions with impressive pictorial depth.

how long should my fine art print last?

A great deal of research and development has gone into the processes and materials used in the manufacture of modern photographic/art print papers. The length of time they will last for varies, depending on the type of pigment-based inks used and the archival properties of the actual paper. Most important of all, however, is the environment in which the print is displayed or stored. Expert scientific opinion is that, assuming it is kept in optimal condition, a Giclée fine art print should last for a minimum of around 100 years.
